Frequently Asked Questions
All accepted abstracts are scheduled in the Scientific Program either as Oral or Poster. It is required that the presenting author of the abstract is registered for the congress. Only abstracts of registered participants will be scheduled in the Scientific Programme. All presentations will be given on site, so if you have an abstract accepted for an oral presentation, you are expected to present on site.
Only after all abstracts have been reviewed and allocated by the Scientific Committee will notifications be sent to the abstract submitters. Please refer to the Key Dates.
If you wish to make a change to your abstract, please email the coordinator on abstracts@siopafrica.org Please note that changes can only be made until the last submission date, and no changes will be accepted thereafter.

The conference has been organized as a physical event with strict COVID-19 measures. Preliminary online sessions have also been scheduled for those individuals that prefer to attend it virtually. A fee has been attached to both forms of attendance and this can be retrieved from the registration tab on the website.
If the conference cannot be held physical due to COVID-19, the session will be fully virtual with new fees attached for every individual wishing to attend. These fees are refundable and the process of applying for a refund can be accessed on the website using the registration tab.
All attendees will be requested to show proof of valid Covid-19 vaccination status as well as a negative Covid test (valid within 72 hours). All staff and organizers are fully vaccinated and strict Covid protocols will be in place. All attendees will be requested to wear a surgical or N95 mask at all times except when eating. It is strongly advised that all delegates book accommodation through the congress website.
