SIOP is a global organisation that brings together healthcare professionals, researchers and other stakeholders involved in the care of children and adolescents with cancer. SIOP Africa is the African continental branch of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology. We represent all African professionals in the field of paediatric oncology and have over 500 members. The goal of SIOP Africa is to address the specific challenges and needs related to paediatric oncology in the African context, where access to proper diagnosis, treatment, and supportive care can be limited.
SIOP Africa organises conferences, workshops, and educational programmes to promote best practices in paediatric oncology, facilitate knowledge exchange and support the development of local expertise. We aim to collaborate with governments, non-profit organisations and healthcare institutions to advocate for improved policies and resources to enhance paediatric cancer care across the continent.
If you are a SIOP member and are based in Africa, you are a member of SIOP Africa. Please join or update your membership click here. There are markedly reduced membership rates for people in low-and-middle-income countries and the benefits include reduced conference registration fees, access to webinars, the journal Pediatric Blood and Cancer and access to experts around the world.
